January 06, 2021Restore the surge in infections caused, also, by the new variant of the virus.

The need for a final "sprint" of the mass vaccination campaign in the country in the coming months.

These are the priorities for Prime Minister Tory, Boris Johnson, introducing in the House of Commons the debate on the vote on the law intended to give a legal framework to the third national lockdown.

The British must prepare to face the lockdown restrictions until Easter, Johnson admitted, speaking in the House of Commons.

However, he explained, the restrictions will be removed "brick by brick".

Johnson then said that the schools will be "the first to reopen", although he is "very cautious" about when this can happen.

The possible restrictions

Johnson spoke of a "miracle of science" which now allows us to glimpse "the final goal" of the defeat of the pandemic.

However, the premier reiterated that the battle is not yet won, so we must be careful.

He was vague on the duration of the restrictions.

Perhaps a possible revocation only in a "gradual" form and starting no earlier than "mid-February".

The restrictions include "protecting the borders" of the United Kingdom from the threat of further contagions from abroad and virulent variants of Covid such as the one recently identified in South Africa. According to the Times, the measures will introduce the need for a mandatory negative test made in the previous 72 hours, for anyone who travels to the Kingdom and perhaps a second buffer on arrival.

the opposition

Keir Starmer, the Labor opposition leader, confirmed the yes of his party to government measures, but also criticized choices made to date to contain the virus. Starmer has called for an increase in support for the economy and work in the face of the backlash of the restrictions, and for clarity for students and teachers on how the summer exams will be due after closing since yesterday of all schools of all levels.

The Scottish independence leader (SNP), Ian Blackford, accused the Tory government of leaving the borders for too long substantially

open yourself.

Borders Blackford said must close now except for "essential travel".

Then he invited Johnson to "learn from his mistakes".
