CNN: At least 20 people detained after riots outside the Capitol

"About 20 people were seen in plastic handcuffs, they were put in the van of the Capitol police after they were taken out of the Russel Senate building," the channel reported.

Prior to this, it was reported about 13 detainees. 

Earlier in Washington, Trump supporters protesting the presidential election results broke into the Capitol and surrounded the Senate Hall. 

According to the latest data, demonstrators have already been ousted from the Senate wing of the Capitol.

At the same time, Trump himself called on protesters in Washington to go home.
