Koblenz (dpa) - The Koblenz public prosecutor has accused an ex-employee of the child protection association of the Rhine-Mosel city for allegedly disseminating child pornography.

The prosecution accuses the man of sending child pornographic images and videos to other people in 24 cases from October 2019 to June 2020 and of having owned child pornographic files in 1119 cases.

As the public prosecutor announced on Wednesday, the accused confessed to the alleged acts.

The Koblenz District Court has not yet terminated the process.

The investigation against the former employee of the Child Protection Association in Koblenz was initiated after a US organization (National Center for Missing and Exploited Children) announced.

In a raid in June 2020 at the 54-year-old's home and at the Child Protection Association, officials secured numerous data carriers.
