Paderborn (dpa / lnw) - A suspected thief was found in a Paderborn supermarket and locked in the toilet by a seller.

After a scramble, the 50-year-old branch manager managed to hold the suspect in the toilet until the police arrived, the officials said on Wednesday.

The 62-year-old is said to have stolen a customer's wallet at the cash register on Tuesday and then disappeared into the store.

The woman and the informed branch manager found the alleged thief between the aisles - the wallet was also very close by, but without money.

The branch manager took the 62-year-old into the office and notified the police.

The 50-year-old was able to prevent an attempt to escape.

He was attacked by the suspect with fist blows.

The opponents injured themselves in the scramble.

A witness also prevented the 62-year-old from getting hold of two cutter knives.
