His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Chairman of the Education and Human Resources Council, called on all workers in governmental and private educational facilities, including teachers, administrators and employees, to receive the 'Covid-19' virus vaccine, in support of the state’s efforts to reach the percentage The target is to vaccinate more than 50% of the country's population during the first quarter of this year, and to return to normal life in schools, to ensure their safety and the safety of our students.

This came during His Highness presiding over the meeting of the Education and Human Resources Council, which was held via remote visual communication technology.

His Highness expressed his pride and pride in the achievements they have made to ensure the continuity of the educational process and advance it to build future generations, in addition to the efforts made to empower the capabilities of human cadres and invest in the energies of the youth, as they are the real wealth in this country, wishing the members of the Council success and more successes in the new year.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan affirmed that overcoming this stage requires the solidarity and cooperation of all members of society, expressing his confidence in the awareness of the educational staff and all workers in educational facilities of the importance of their role in the current stage in supporting the efforts made to control the pandemic to protect them and their society.

His Highness also stressed the importance of the education sector's support for the state’s efforts to address the “Covid-19” virus, as it is one of the most vital sectors in the country.

His Highness indicated that the UAE has been keen to be proactive in facing the pandemic, starting from applying precautionary and preventive measures, conducting continuous checks, and ending with providing a vaccine for the "Covid-19" virus for all segments of society, to ensure its safety and the safety of its children.

His Highness added: “We look forward to the return of our children to the normal situation in the classroom, to develop their capabilities and skills within a safe and healthy school environment, in addition to continuing their academic achievement with high levels of competence in order to prepare a promising generation capable of leading the future, where the health and safety of the educational staff and students are considered. A top priority for the state. Through receiving the vaccine, we protect the health of students and teachers alike, as they return to the classroom.

For his part, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and Small and Medium Enterprises, Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Humaid Belhoul Al Falasi, reviewed the strategy to stimulate entrepreneurship in the country, which aims to develop an integrated framework to support national entrepreneurship and develop the small and medium enterprises sector in the various emirates of the country.

He touched on the sector’s role in creating job opportunities and increasing the country's competitiveness at the regional and global levels.

He pointed out that the strategy to stimulate entrepreneurship is based on six basic axes that aim to develop an environment capable of providing comprehensive and sustainable support for entrepreneurs in the country, which includes ease of doing business, access to finance, increased demand, business support, innovation and digital transformation.

The axes of the strategy are supported through two main pillars, namely, investment in human capital, and the culture of entrepreneurship, and the development of an effective system for collecting data and information on which all policies and initiatives related to organizing and developing the SME sector and entrepreneurship are based.

The council also discussed within its agenda the conditions related to the age of admission for students in the first year of kindergarten and first grade of basic education, as it was indicated that according to the results of studies conducted by the Ministry of Education and local educational authorities to determine the most appropriate time period for admission, and in the interest of students And to enable their academic level, it was agreed between the Ministry and local educational authorities to update the date of calculating the age of admission for students so that those who completed the age approved for registration would be four years old for the first year of kindergarten, and the sixth of the age and did not exceed eight for the first grade of basic education on August 31 of The academic year in which it is accepted, starting from the academic year 2021-2022.

It was also agreed between the Ministry and the local educational authorities to update the date of calculating the age of admission for students in private schools whose academic year begins in April of “Indian, Pakistani and Japanese schools”, so that those who have completed the approved age will be accepted on March 31 of the school year in which they are accepted starting from the year. The academic year 2022-2023, with no exceptions for the specified dates, and taking into consideration the study of students coming from outside the country and registering them accordingly.

The updated conditions aim to raise the quality of the educational process and achieve a better academic level for all students, in addition to standardizing and facilitating the transition between schools in the country and abroad, and the conditions will be applied upon registration of new students without affecting the students currently enrolled in each class and their transfer to the following classes.
