Frenchman Salah Abdeslam and nine other accused in the case of the jihadist attacks of March 22, 2016 in Brussels were sent back to an assize court on Tuesday, nearly five years after this double suicide attack which left 32 dead, AFP learned judicial source.

The trial is not expected to take place before the second half of 2022 in Brussels.

The Belgian federal prosecutor responsible for terrorism had requested the dismissal of eight suspects (including Abdeslam) and not ten.

Three of the 13 defendants are dismissed, the same source said.
