Stuttgart / Berlin (dpa) - Baden-Württemberg does not want to decide until later whether, like other countries, it restricts the range of motion in counties with high numbers of corona infections.

"We are not currently planning that," said Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) on Tuesday evening after discussions with the federal and state governments about further corona measures.

"We must first come to reliable values next week in order to then decide."

The federal and state governments had previously agreed that districts with a 7-day incidence of over 200 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants could take local measures to limit the range of motion to 15 kilometers around the place of residence.

Exceptions are valid reasons which expressly do not include day trips.

The model for the 15-kilometer specification in hotspots are corresponding rules in Saxony.

In Baden-Württemberg, according to figures from the State Health Office on Tuesday (4:00 p.m.), this would be the Enzkreis and the urban district of Pforzheim, but both are only slightly above the 200 mark. The Tuttlingen district was just below that.

By contrast, the number in the Calw district was approaching the 200 limit.
