The Community of Madrid will pay the Red Cross 133,512 euros per month for half a year for the provision of a support service for the Covid-19 vaccination.
The
diario.es
provides private contract Tuesday to Red Cross and
the Order of the tender, ratified on 29 December
by the Health Minister, Enrique Ruiz Escudero.
The service will be provided from Monday to Friday working hours from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. by
12 daily vaccination teams - a total of 25 people -
during the term of the contract, according to the order.
Each vaccination team will be made up of
a registered nurse and a nursing assistant
, duly equipped and with at least one year of accredited experience in vaccination programs.
The execution, on an emergency basis, of the "Support Service for vaccination against Covid-19 in the 2021 campaign in the Community of Madrid", will have
a total amount of 804,098 euros.
The order explains that the public sector contract regulations provide that when the Administration must act immediately due to situations that pose serious danger, it may
use emergency processing and the exceptional regime
for which it has requested "a single budget" for this service to the Red Cross (free contract).
The bulk of the amount of 130,000 euros per month will be dedicated to personnel expenses, around 90,000, and
the rest corresponds to the purchase of uniforms,
relief and emergency material, computer equipment, vehicle rental, cleaning and computer equipment.
The Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, specified this Monday that to date
82,834 people have been vaccinated in Spain
, but the rate of inoculation of the doses differs greatly depending on the autonomous community, with Madrid being one in which the least have been put on.
The Minister of Health argued that in a pandemic situation all the necessary resources must be used, both public and private, while the Deputy Minister of Public Health, Antonio Zapatero, assured that Madrid has the
capacity to put more than 24,000 vaccines each week
, and guaranteed that there is no problem "neither logistical nor of personnel" to administer them.
