Mainz (dpa) - 1. FSV Mainz 05 will officially present the new head coach Bo Svensson today.
The 41-year-old Dane is already the fourth coach this season in the second-bottom of the Bundesliga table, threatened with relegation.
Svensson is returning to the Rhine from the Austrian second division club FC Liefering, for whom he has worked successfully for the past year and a half.
He played for the zero fives from 2007 to 2014 and completed 122 competitive games.
From 2014 to 2019 he coached the U19 and U17 teams at the Mainz youth training center.
Svensson brings the Mainz-born and former 05 youth coach Babak Keyhanfar from FC Liefering as his assistant coach.
