The Minister of Health Olivier Véran announced that people aged over 75 and who do not reside in nursing homes will have access to the vaccine against the coronavirus before the end of January.

In addition, caregivers, firefighters and home helpers over 50 will also have the opportunity to be vaccinated before the end of the month.

Amplify, speed up and simplify.

These are the three new axes announced by the Minister of Health Olivier Véran in the face of the many criticisms of the French vaccination campaign against the coronavirus.

Thus, the vaccination of people aged 75 and over who are not accommodated in nursing homes will be authorized before the end of January.

"That's 5 million people," said the Minister of Health.

Firefighters and home helpers over 50 concerned

In addition, Olivier Véran also announced the extension to firefighters and home helpers over 50 years of the vaccination campaign, for the moment reserved for residents of nursing homes and caregivers at least 50 years old.

Under fire from critics because of a very slow start to its vaccination campaign against Covid-19, the government promised on Monday a rapid rise.

Hospitalizations for Covid-19 have continued to increase in the past 24 hours, and 380 patients have died, according to figures released Monday by Public Health France.
