The results of the legislative elections in the Central African Republic were broadcast on the radio.

They give 21 candidates elected in the first round.

Among them, six are from the presidential movement, the MCU;

three are independent;

the others are candidates from the major opposition parties of François Bozizé, Anicet Georges Dologuélé and Martin Ziguélé.

Sixty-one constituencies are on a ballot, a majority made up of deputies from the presidential or independent movement.

Among the big absentees from the second round are the three big parties: the KNK, the URCA and the MLPC.

The latter seem to have been sanctioned for the benefit of the independents.

It must be said that there was a plethora of candidates: 1,585 candidates for 140 seats.

In addition, certain parties had doubled their chances with well-known personalities who were not affiliated with but close to their movements.

For the latter, a second round is required.

But what about the constituencies that were unable to vote because of insecurity or the destruction of electoral material?

In all, the votes of the inhabitants of 58 constituencies

were not taken into account

.

Some mention the possibility of organizing by-elections as was the case in 2015.

Already before the group ballot, appeals had been lodged with the ANE and the Constitutional Court for the postponement of the elections due to inadequate security conditions in particular.

After the announcement of the results, legislative candidates have already affirmed that they would file their appeals

with the Constitutional Court
