Kiel (dpa / lno) - Minister of Education Karin Prien (CDU) wants to keep Schleswig-Holstein's schools closed if the lockdown is extended.

"In view of the incidence of infection and the uncertain data situation, I am very skeptical about school openings in face-to-face classes on January 11," she told the "Bild" newspaper (Monday edition).

"Now it is important to take advantage of the advances in digital learning."

It is right that schools must also make a contribution if the lockdown is extended.

This opens up the possibility “that our schools will soon be offering face-to-face teaching again”.

On Monday, the federal states want to discuss the situation of the schools in the conference of ministers of education. On Tuesday, the heads of government from the federal and state levels will discuss how to deal with the corona pandemic from January 11th. At the schools in Schleswig-Holstein there should be distance learning days on Thursday and Friday. It is still open to what extent and from when there will be classroom lessons after the holidays.
