Munich (dpa) - A good three months after the insolvency of the online supermarket Getnow, a savior has been found: The Munich-based start-up is being taken over by LIS, a consulting company for the logistics industry.

The insolvency administrator Max Liebig announced on Monday.

Getnow ran out of money in October after a financing round failed, and no more deliveries have been made since then.

Customers in Berlin, Munich, Essen, Frankfurt, Hanover and Düsseldorf were able to order groceries from the wholesaler Metro via Getnow, which were then delivered via DHL.

Getnow wants to resume deliveries in the next few days.

Managing director Raik Scheffler is apparently already forging future plans for the company that has just been rescued: «We see the relaunch of Getnow as a conscious opportunity to take the next stage of development, to further develop the previous service portfolio in relevant future markets and to consolidate the position of our medium-sized group of companies in the market to expand ”, said the manager, according to a message from the insolvency administrator.
