Zurich (dpa / lby) - For the first time, a team of referees will lead games at the World Cup.

The world association announced on Monday.

The FIFA Referees Committee nominated a total of seven referees and twelve assistants for the tournament from February 1 to 11 in Qatar with the Champions League winners FC Bayern Munich.

The Brazilian Edina Alves Batista will lead games.

She is supported by her compatriot Neuza Back and the Argentine Mariana de Almeida as assistants.

German referees were not appointed.

The six best teams on the continents take part in the Club World Cup.

From Europe Champions League winner FC Bayern, who only joins in the semi-finals on February 8th.

There is also Al-Duhail SC for host Qatar.

The pairings will be drawn on January 19th in Zurich.
