Lüdenscheid (dpa / lnw) - Unknown people fired several shots at a train in Lüdenscheid on Saturday evening.

The passengers and the train staff were not injured, said a police spokesman at night.

The number of shots is still unclear.

The shots were fired around 9 p.m. near Wehberger Strasse.

"Several windows have splintered but not smashed," said the press secretary.

The homicide squad is investigating, the police are also looking for the perpetrators with the help of a helicopter.

Because of the investigations, the section between Lüdenscheid-Bruges and Lüdenscheid was closed to rail traffic, according to Deutsche Bahn.
