A great figure in Lyon political life for 25 years, Bernadette Isaac-Sibille died on Saturday at the age of 90.
After having been a municipal councilor in 1977 alongside the mayor Francisque Collomb, in 1983 she became mayor of the 5th arrondissement, a first for a woman in Lyon.
In 1988, Bernadette Isaac-Sibille, supported by the UDF, also distinguished herself during the legislative elections, in the first district of the Rhône, by beating a certain Gérard Collomb (PS).
Re-elected in 1993, then in 1998, again facing Gérard Collomb, she therefore continued her political career in the National Assembly until 2002. Bernadette Isaac-Sibille, who described herself as a “family activist”, was the mother of four children , including the current LREM deputy Cyrille Isaac-Sibille.
