On Monday, the chief safety representative and Arriva will meet.

The outcome of that meeting will determine whether parts of the staff go on a wildcat strike and simply refuse to work.

- It may be that routes are completely or partially canceled due to the acute shortage of staff that will arise, especially when train drivers go on strike, says an anonymous spokesperson for the newly formed strike committee on Pågatågen.

The spokesperson says that around a hundred employees on Pågatågen are willing to carry out the strike threat.

Conflict over new terms of employment

A quarrel between the union and the employer for Pågatågen, Skånetrafiken's local and regional trains, has been going on for a long time.

Behind the conflict is that the employer unilaterally wants the employees to reduce working hours and wages.

On Tuesday, a safety representative was offered two years' salary to leave his post - something that led a group of union members to form the strike committee.

The strike committee wants to remain anonymous

The spokesperson for the committee only chooses to appear in an interview with SVT Nyheter Skåne under the promise of anonymity.

- What we see Arriva doing to the chief safety representative is threats and harassment.

I and the strike committee do not want to be exposed to it, says the spokesperson for the committee.

What do you mean then?

- It is a threat to get rid of the job.

Then there is harassment to go to a chief safety representative and buy it out.

It is a combative chief safety representative who has only done his job exemplary.

Arriva: "An action against current collective agreements"

Arriva has heard about the threat of a wildcat strike.

But you do not want to give any information in advance.

- We have noted that it has been discussed on social media.

It is an action against current collective agreements as there is a duty of peace.

Otherwise, Arriva has no comments, but this is a threat that is conditional on a measure we take against an employee, says Christer Ekelund, communications manager for Arriva.

Why do you want the chief safety representative to be bought out?

- We have had a conversation with an employee who has chosen to go out in the media with selected parts of that conversation.

We never comment or refer to our conversations with our employees, says Christer Ekelund.

Arriva also does not want to comment on the measures and consequences of a wildcat strike at the moment.
