It started well when Blekinge Museum set a record in the number of visitors, over 100,000 people - a number that was possible before the pandemic.

Since it closed, the museum has been forced to close three times in the past year.

"Will be one of our big projects"

But the biggest challenge has been that seawater penetrates under the museum's buildings on Fisktorget in Karlskrona.

The houses, which date from the early 19th century, are both listed monuments and part of the World Heritage Site.

Saving the properties is a priority in 2021.

- This is something we will have to work with in the future and it will be one of our major projects in the future, says Marcus Sandekjer.
