New year, new restrictions.

The increase in the incidence of the coronavirus has forced the Community of Madrid to expand confinements by basic health areas.

If until today there were 10 who suffered restrictions, that number will rise to 18 and five locations from next Monday.

This was announced this Saturday by the Minister of Health, Enrique Ruiz Escudero, and the general director of Public Health, Elena Andradas, who has detailed "a slight rebound" in the incidence that has risen from 346.1 cases to 369.3.

Faced with this situation, the Ministry of Health has decided to impose restrictions on eight new basic health areas of Alcobendas, Aranjuez, Madrid and San Fernando de Henares as well as five towns in the region: Ciempozuelos, Mejorada del Campo, Villarejo de Salvanés, Navalcarnero and Torrelodones.

Restrictions that, as explained by the Ministry of Health, will affect half a million people from Madrid - 7.8% of the total population of the region - which represent 11.2% of all cases.
