The Public Prosecution noted that, in accordance with Article 21 of Federal Decree-Law No. 5 of 2012 regarding combating information technology crimes, the penalty for imprisonment for a period of no less than six months and a fine of no less than one hundred and fifty thousand dirhams and not exceeding five hundred thousand dirhams or either of these two penalties Any person who uses an information network, an electronic information system, or any means of information technology to attack the privacy of a person in cases other than those legally authorized by one of the following methods: eavesdropping, intercepting, recording, transmitting, broadcasting or disclosing conversations or communications Or audio or visual materials, or taking pictures of others, preparing, transmitting, disclosing, copying, or preserving electronic images, or publishing news, electronic pictures, photographs, scenes, comments, data or information even if they are true and correct.

Also punishable by imprisonment for a period of no less than one year and a fine not less than two hundred and fifty thousand dirhams and not in excess of five hundred thousand dirhams or either of these two penalties, whoever uses an electronic information system, or an information technology means, to make any amendment or processing to a recording or a photo Or a scene, with the intent to defame or offend another person, or invade or violate his privacy.

The State Prosecutor's Office indicated the importance of Federal Decree-Law No. 5 of 2012 regarding combating information technology crimes, and its role in enhancing the confrontation of new crimes that keep pace with the rapid technological development, and responding to them in a deterrent manner, which ensures the reduction of their negative effects, which result from the misuse of modern technologies. .
