Berlin (dpa / bb) - In Berlin, several cars burned again on New Year's Day.

In a tenant parking lot on Senftenberger Ring in the Märkisches Viertel, two unknown people are said to have set fire to an off-road vehicle at around 8.15 p.m., as the police announced on Saturday.

Witnesses observed how the two threw an object into the vehicle before the fire broke out.

According to the information, two other cars were damaged by the flames before they were extinguished by firefighters.

The off-road vehicle was completely burned out.

At around 8.45 p.m., a passer-by noticed a burning car in Berlichingenstrasse in Moabit.

According to police, the fire brigade put out the fire, but the interior of the vehicle was completely destroyed.

Two cars parked next to it were also damaged.

In this case, too, an investigation is being carried out on suspicion of arson.
