Weddingstedt (dpa / lno) - An 83-year-old driver was seriously injured in the collision of his car with a tractor and trailer combination near Weddingstedt (Dithmarschen district).
The senior crashed his car on Saturday morning for an initially unexplained cause in the rear tire of the tractor, as a police spokesman said.
According to initial findings, the 62-year-old driver wanted to turn left and stopped in a bend to let the oncoming 83-year-old pass.
This is said to have driven his car directly into the rear tire of the tractor.
The senior was seriously injured and taken to hospital.
The tractor driver was uninjured.
The police were initially unable to name the exact amount of damage.
