They are included in the Government Offices' information publication "More important laws and regulations".

As usual, the Ministry of Justice is one of the ministries responsible for most legislative changes.

From the first of January, an opportunity will be introduced to sentence young criminals to new types of punishment.

They should be used when neither youth care nor youth service are sufficiently intrusive sanctions.

It can be a ban on leaving the home during weekend evenings and nights or a ban on staying in a certain place or in a certain area.

The restrictions must be checked with an electronic foot shackle.

Unpaid fines are penalized

Another change in the law means that it will be easier to convert unpaid fines into imprisonment, if the fined person refuses to pay despite financial possibilities.

So-called car goalkeepers are a problem that the Ministry of Infrastructure wants to address.

These are people who act as bulwark owners for cars used by other people.

Car goalkeepers rarely have their own funds to pay parking fees.

From the turn of the year, vehicles with unpaid parking fees of more than SEK 5,000 and which have not been paid after six months will be banned from use.

If the vehicle is used despite a ban, the police must be able to remove the registration plates.

Increased square deduction

Another change in the law from the Ministry of Infrastructure concerns those who fly drones.

It is, among other things, about what information a registration as a drone operator must contain.

The standard income for deferred tax on profits from the sale of housing (the so-called deferral interest) is removed.

Both existing and future deferrals are covered by the new rules.

Several new laws and regulations affect taxes and compensation, such as an extended and increased square deduction.

Several other changes are temporary and linked to measures to mitigate the effects of the corona pandemic.
