Bergisch Gladbach (dpa / lnw) - For fear of New Year's Eve bangs, two dogs in Bergisch Gladbach searched the distance and wandered around on Autobahn 4.
Several worried drivers called the police early on the New Year's morning.
A little later the beagles "Lotte" and "Emma" were caught.
They ran back and forth across the lanes in a panic and at the end of their tether, but were unhurt, said the Cologne motorway police on Friday.
The officers took the animals to the guard and fed them lovingly. A little later, the owners could be determined, a 59-year-old and his 21-year-old daughter. Relieved, they picked up their dogs.
