A week ago, doses of the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine arrived in the 27 countries of the European Union, a few days after the authorization obtained by the European Medicines Agency.

On December 27, the vaccination campaigns were able to begin.

But, a few days later, the situation is mixed.

In Germany, 165,000 people had been treated until yesterday afternoon.

From our correspondent in Berlin,

These are first of all mobile teams which, locally, have visited homes for the elderly across Germany since December 27.

Seniors were vaccinated there, but also caregivers.

And it is from January 4 that the 440 vaccination centers hastily set up across the country will really begin to welcome people who have been summoned there.

The first priority group is made up of the over 80s and the most exposed nursing and medical staff.

Critics of the government are fired

We wonder in France how Germany, which also received its doses of vaccine a week ago, has already been able to vaccinate 165,000 people.

But surprisingly, this is not the time for self-congratulation.

On the contrary, criticism of the government is coming from all sides as if nothing had happened since last Sunday.

The major criticism concerns the number of doses of BioNTech / Pfizer vaccine deemed insufficient: four million doses by the end of the month, twelve million by the end of March.

Berlin hopes that the authorization of the Moderna vaccine will bring a breath of fresh air.

An additional BioNTech production site in Germany or the authorization to vaccinate six and not five people with a vial are all avenues to improve the situation.
