The Dubai Health Authority confirmed the increase in the average life expectancy of Dubai residents, to 82.1 years, compared to 79.9 years, according to the latest census, with a rate of 82.5 for females, compared to 81.8 for males.

The authority attributed the rise to the great development in health services, in recent years.

She emphasized that she is working to improve the quality of life, ensure a better health future, and reach a healthier and happier society, pointing out that her daily work is based on achieving these goals.

The authority also affirmed its constant endeavor, to take advantage of the enormous capabilities that the emirate possesses, to establish an integrated health care system that conforms in its standards and smart and innovative solutions to the best global systems, and with the requirements and controls that govern international accreditations and recognitions.

According to the annual statistical report of the authority, the birth rate in the emirate in 2019 per 1000 of the population reached 9.74 births, down from 2018, which witnessed new births at a rate of 10.25.

The authority pointed out that the number of births has continued to decline since 2011, at an annual rate of change of 4.98%, due to the decline in the total fertility rate, which is the main engine for growth in any country.

The report indicated that the total fertility rate for Dubai residents reached 1.28 children, per female, aged between 15 and 49 years, in 2019, compared to 1.39 in 2018.

The report revealed a decline in the stillbirth rate per 1000 population, from 5.6 cases in 2018 to 4.37 cases in 2019.

The rate of perinatal deaths per 1000 population decreased from 7.8 cases in 2018 to 6.59 cases in 2019. The rate of newborn deaths per 1000 population was fixed at 3.2 deaths between 2018 and 2019.
