There are reports that North Korea has recently contacted the European Parliament and expressed its intention to'want a good relationship with the United States'.

The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on the 31st local time that North Korea contacted the European Parliament's delegation on the Korean Peninsula a few days before the US presidential election in November and requested an online interview.

According to reports, Austrian-born European Parliament President Lucas Jill agreed to hold an informal videoconference with the North Korean ambassador to Berlin in early December.

In a video conference that lasted about an hour, the North Korean ambassador said several times that the goal was to build strong relations with the United States if the United States ceases its hostilities toward North Korea, sources said.

One source told the WSJ that North Korea's position was positively accepted.

Chairman Maul confirmed the conversation with North Korea, but the North Korean Embassy in Berlin did not respond to the Wall Street Journal's e-mail inquiries.

As these comments come ahead of the inauguration of US President-elect Joe Biden, it is noteworthy whether the North American denuclearization talks can re-start after the inauguration of the next US administration.
