The clip opens with a ready-made cover of
Georgia On My Mind
by John Legend, on piano.
The singer accompanies another famous voice, that of Barack Obama, in a one-minute political advertisement to call on Georgia to vote Democratic in the crucial double senatorial on January 5.
"
When it was necessary to reject fear and division and send a message of change, Georgia mobilized,
" said Barack Obama, alluding to Joe Biden's victory in Georgia.
This conservative southern state had not voted Democrat since 1992. “
America is still counting on you now,
” Obama also launches.
Gap too tight
Because after the two senatorial elections organized on the same day as the presidential election, the gap was too tight.
Georgia must therefore vote again to choose its two senators.
To obtain a majority in the Senate, the Democrats must absolutely win these two seats.
Against the backdrop of images of
Black Lives Matter
demonstrations
and the devastation of the coronavirus, John Legend and Barack Obama, two of the most popular personalities among African-Americans, hope to mobilize the black electorate once again.
An electorate who is
the secret weapon of Joe Biden
who has already saved him from rout during his presidential campaign.
