Dortmund (dpa / lnw) - After finding a snake skin, the fire brigade cleared an apartment building in Dortmund.
The residents now have to spend the turn of the year with friends and acquaintances or in an emergency shelter.
A resident found the skin on the morning of New Year's Eve and alerted the fire department.
Experts could not rule out that it is a dangerous snake, said a fire department spokesman.
The house was then vacated.
Two snake experts were on site and had, among other things, spread flour to see whether there really was a snake in the building.
