The Egyptian and Algerian Presidents, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Abdel-Majid Taboun, agreed to intensify joint coordination during the coming period between the two countries, in order to restore security and stability to Libya.

The spokesperson for the Republican Presidency stated, in a statement on his Facebook page, yesterday that this came during a phone call made by the Egyptian President with his Algerian counterpart.

According to the spokesman, the Egyptian President congratulated the Algerian president on his recovery from the Corona virus, wishing him continued health and wellness, and for Algeria and its brotherly people all good, peace and prosperity.

According to the spokesman, the call dealt with discussions on ways to strengthen the frameworks of bilateral cooperation between the two countries to combat the spread of the Coronavirus, and health prevention measures through the exchange of experiences between the relevant agencies.

With regard to regional issues, visions were exchanged on a number of regional files, especially the Libyan crisis, where the Egyptian President reviewed Egypt's ongoing efforts within the framework of the political track.

For his part, President Tebboune affirmed Algeria's pride in the close ties and ties that bind it with Egypt at the official and popular levels, appreciating Egypt's balanced and wise interaction to deal with various regional issues based on its pivotal political weight, at the regional and international levels.

According to the spokesman, Al-Sisi emphasized the distinction of the fraternal bilateral relations between Egypt and Algeria.
