Prisoner Rommel Brum, 64, breathed his last breath in a prison in the US state of Ohio, after he was recently infected with the new Corona virus, after he escaped more than once from the execution of the death sentence using lethal injection.
The British newspaper "The Guardian" quoted Sarah French, a spokeswoman for the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction in the state of Ohio, as saying that Rommel Brom was included in the "list of cases of Covid-19", which includes the list of prisoners who are suspected of having died from the Corona virus. Pending the issuance of a final medical report that identifies the exact cause of death.
The authorities say that nearly 124 prisoners have died from the emerging corona virus, and the cases are divided between confirmed and probable cases.

Repeated attempts without success
Rommel had escaped execution by lethal injection on more than one occasion, the first being on September 15, 2009, when he was 53 years old, as the execution was canceled after two hours of attempts due to the technicians ’inability to find a suitable vein.
At the time, Brum cried out in pain after 18 attempts to inject a needle into his veins, and he was the second prisoner in the United States to escape execution since its inception in the modern era.
In 2015, the execution team was preparing again for execution, and Brum tried to help them, but the attempt failed again.
Before the ruling could be executed again in June of this year, Judge Mike DeWine issued a decision to postpone the date to March 2022.
