How have you been these months?
Well ok.
The mood, at first, good.
I was at home with my little boy, who gave us a little light and joy.
I can not complain.
I have been fortunate to be with my family at home, all healthy, but I already want to go out, to stop living with this coldness.
You don't even know how to say hello. Are the new songs from those months?
On December 3, 2019 I did the last concert in Copernicus, in Madrid.
So I stopped, wrote the new songs, and was recording until they sent us home.
What happens is that there are songs like
The wings of dawn
that seem to speak of the pandemic, although in reality it is earlier.
It's a very positive song about being able to get together and give each other a hug and a kiss: 'Between the moon and the sea, where the flight is free.'
There are six new songs, and each one has its own air.
My root is flamenco but leads to other things: reggae blues, rock ... There are a flamenco-rockers tanguillos with shades celtas.Ah, I've seen the video: the monks have dress

That came to me very quickly, I did not have enough musical knowledge, I sang the best I could.
But it was the way to meet people in music and start a journey. Did you play guitar as a child? I learned by ear, at the time of the first album, at 16, 17 years old.
I learned what I have learned, which gives me to compose a little, and to play a rumbita at a party. Piano? I can get a melody, but I don't even know how to play the piano.
And the guitar, at concerts, I ask them to put it low. Did he have someone to advise him at that time? The best adviser in the world, which was my father, El Fary. And what advice did he give him? His motto, not only in music, it was: walk and let walk.
Do not believe yourself or more or less than anyone. Well, with 17 years and success, it must be difficult to understand. I did something stupid.
But I had already seen that my father was what he was: that he loved people and that he showed his truth and that was why he was doing well.
He was not a divo. A while ago I read an article about the classism with which flamenco has always been viewed.
That happened in our generation, they never treated me badly.
I grew up in Villaviciosa, which is not the most partying place in the world.
I went to a paid school, I taught my classmates to clap their hands and they freaked out.
The last question
I think about being a classmate of El Fary's son and I imagine a perpetual succession of anecdotes.
I liked partying, I was a good kid, a bit unruly ... I was not a good student and that saddens me now, because sometimes I miss education.
They saw me as one more.
