December 31, 2020 "What is certain is that we will not vote on February 14. We are not so foolish as to send the Calabrians to vote with the Rt index which has gone from 0.64 to almost 2 and with the number of infections that has doubled in two days".
The acting president of the Calabria Region, Nino Spirlì, said in a direct Facebook.
"I am currently preparing the deed that will be presented as soon as possible with the final date of the elections. Out of institutional respect, I am waiting to have an interview with the President of the Court of Appeal of Catanzaro but I can assure you that no Calabrian will be endangered ".
"Enough controversy. I remember that the time gap - added Spirlì - was dictated by the Government for which the executive Pd-M5s-Iv and Leu took on this responsibility".
Spirlì then said that he had addressed the Government and Minister Boccia also on the basis of the pronouncement of the national CTS which in recent days defined the vote in that period as "undesirable".
"I can assure you that once again - said Spirlì - we will not wait for others to decide in our place. In complete serenity, I contacted the representatives of the national and regional parties, the president of the Regional Council to whom I asked to contact the group leader. I called a good part of the majority and opposition regional councilors myself and informed the council ".
