Zhu Fenglian pointed out that despite the impact of the epidemic and artificial obstruction and restrictions on the island, cross-strait economic and trade exchanges have continued to grow this year. The production and operation of Taiwanese enterprises in the mainland have been generally stable, and the performance of some enterprises has increased significantly. Taiwanese enterprises continue to value development opportunities in the mainland.
From January to November, cross-strait trade volume reached US$235.69 billion, an increase of 13.8% year-on-year.
In terms of personnel exchanges, since February until now, the DPP authorities have unilaterally suspended mainland residents from going to Taiwan.
Zhu Fenglian pointed out that the current cross-strait personnel exchanges and exchanges are still in an extremely abnormal state, and the artificial obstacles have greater impact than the new crown epidemic.
Regarding Taiwanese youths coming to the mainland to study and work, Zhu Fenglian said that all the difficulties this year have failed to stop young friends from both sides of the strait from getting closer and closer to relatives.
