According to Reuters news, on the 30th local time, the Swiss police stated that they were investigating the incident of British tourists evading quarantine. Before that, hundreds of British tourists fled Switzerland because they refused to be quarantined.

According to the regulations of the Swiss Federal Government, since December 14th, tourists from the UK and South Africa must undergo a 10-day mandatory quarantine, resulting in some tourists stranded in ski resorts such as Verbier.

At present, Valais, where Verbier is located, has confirmed 12 cases of British tourists fleeing.

If penalties are imposed in accordance with Swiss laws involving "dangerous diseases," violations of the quarantine regulations will be fined up to 10,000 Swiss francs.
