Ellmau (dpa) - racing legend Hans-Joachim Stuck is enthusiastic about Mick Schumacher's rise in Formula 1.
"I think that's great.
What Mick has achieved is really remarkable, ”said Stuck, who is also known as“ Strietzel ”, to the German press agency on the occasion of his 70th birthday on January 1st.
Mick Schumacher, son of Formula 1 record world champion Michael Schumacher, will drive in the motorsport premier class for the US team Haas after his overall Formula 2 victory from 2021.
"How he does it, how he acts, you can really expect a lot," said Stuck.
The son of the former mountain champion Hans Stuck used to drive Formula 1 himself, twice winning the 24-hour classic in LeMans and even three times at the Nürburgring.
Born in Garmisch, he is celebrating his milestone birthday with his wife Uschi and their two sons Johannes and Ferdinand at home in Ellmau in Tyrol.
“It will be an easy-going birthday,” he announced with a laugh.
