Geratal (dpa / th) - In a rear-end collision in the Alte Burg tunnel near Geratal (Ilm district), two drivers were slightly injured on Tuesday evening.
A 60-year-old driver was just about to overtake a truck in the tunnel when a 38-year-old driver drove up from behind "at high speed", as the police announced.
The collision initially resulted in smoke development - but the fire brigade gave the all-clear after a short time.
Both cars had to be towed and the tunnel was closed in both directions for around 75 minutes.
