In Besançon, in the west of France, a baker fights to keep his apprentice baker.

Originally from the Republic of Guinea, the latter is subject to an OQTF, an obligation to leave the territory.

Officially he will have to stop working from January 2021. To keep him, his boss will go on hunger strike.

Stéphane Ravacley is an artisan baker.

For 24 years, he has managed the Huche à Pain in Besançon.

On a daily basis, he fights to produce quality products, while he has all the trouble in the world to find young people on work-study contracts.

For a year and a half, he has found the rare pearl, an apprentice of Guinean origin but the latter is under an obligation to leave the territory (OQTF).

He came from Guinea through Syria, then he went through Italy.

As he was a minor, France accepted him and found him an apprenticeship boss.

And in fact, at the moment, I am not allowed to use it anymore from January 2nd.

There will be a return to the borders soon.

A disgusted boss

Very moved and angry, the trader does not understand the logic of the reception system for foreign minors on French soil: “

 We can't find employees!

We've been fighting for 24 years because at home, we have a certain quality of bread.

And we fight to have people because learning is education about everything.

And when the state no longer wants him, he is taken from us.

We were not asked for anything

, protests the boss of the young Guinean.

The government allows itself the right to kidnap a kid who works very well in a company.

There is no longer any labor law and I find that disgusting!

 "

To help his Guinean apprentice, Stéphane Ravacley has launched an online petition and plans to start a hunger strike.
