Berlin (dpa / bb) - There is sharp criticism of Health Senator Dilek Kalayci (SPD) from the Berlin CDU parliamentary group.

"What we have felt since the beginning of the pandemic is that Ms. Kalayci is regularly looking for the blame elsewhere and not doing her own homework," said Tim-Christopher Zeelen, health spokesman for the group, on Wednesday.

Berlin received around 60,000 vaccine doses, of which only a good ten percent were used.

"That would be the most urgent task, to get what we have in stock to the people," said Zeelen.

"My demand is that she first get that under control before looking for the culprit elsewhere."

Kalayci said on Wednesday that the vaccinations were not going as planned.

"We have now received the message from the Federal Ministry of Health that the delivery will be canceled in the first calendar week without replacement," said the Senator.

"That is now causing us great difficulties because we have made our plans based on these commitments."

Berlin should have received more vaccine doses from January 4, 29,250.

Zeelen does not accept that.

He criticizes that the vaccinations have progressed too slowly this week.

"We are far from inoculating what the State of Berlin currently has available."

In particular, the vaccinations for the staff in the nursing homes were not well prepared.

“Because the vaccination doses are there now, and what is not there are the employees.

It's a failure of planning, ”said Zeelen.

"Waiting for someone to answer you is not enough."

Facility by facility, porter by porter, should have been informed much earlier when and where it was going.

"That has been neglected."
