  Liu Youbin said that since the autumn and winter of this year, as of December 27, 80 cities at prefecture-level and above in the three key areas of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and surrounding areas, Fenwei Plain, and Yangtze River Delta region had a total of 100 days of severe and above pollution, which is more than 2019. There was a decrease of 95 days in the same period of the year, a decrease of 47.8%; a decrease of 631 days from the same period in 2015, a decrease of 86.3%.

  At the same time, the number of good days in 80 prefecture-level and above cities in the three key regions has increased overall. Since the fall and winter of this year, the number of good days has been 5306, an increase of 191 days or 3.7% over the same period in 2019; an increase of 974 days or 22.5% over 2015 , The ambient air quality continues to improve.

  Since the beginning of autumn and winter in Beijing this year, there has not been a heavy pollution process. The number of good days has exceeded 40 days, which is the best level in the same period in history.

  Liu Youbin said that it is expected that from January to March 2021, the three regions of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and surrounding areas, the Fenwei Plain, and the Yangtze River Delta will have overall deviations in the meteorological conditions for air pollution diffusion.

The Ministry of Ecology and Environment will work with the China Meteorological Administration and relevant provinces and cities to strengthen the research and judgment of the air quality situation, strive to achieve accurate forecasts and forecasts, and take effective measures to respond to possible heavy pollution processes.
