Hitzhofen (dpa / lby) - A 52-year-old man was killed by a tree while felling.
The man and his family felled several trees for personal use in a forest near Hitzhofen (Eichstätt district) on Monday, the police said on Tuesday.
According to the family members, a tree that had already been felled got stuck in another tree, turned, kicked back and hit the 52-year-old on the side of the head.
The man died at the scene of the accident.
The police are investigating what happened.
There are no indications of third-party negligence.
