December 29, 2020The European drug agency Ema will most likely not be able to approve the anti-Covid vaccine developed by the University of Oxford and Irbm of Pomezia and produced by AstraZeneca in January.

This is what the deputy executive director of the EU regulatory authority, Noel Wathion, told the Belgian daily 'Het Nieuwsblad'.

"They haven't applied to us yet," the expert also pointed out.

The information received so far, Wathion continued, "is not enough to warrant conditional approval either. We need additional data on the quality of the vaccine. And after that, the company has to submit a formal application." Therefore, at present, the lack of these last steps makes an approval "unlikely" next month, concluded the number two of the EMA.
