Saarbrücken (dpa / lrs) - The number of confirmed corona infections in Saarland rose more sharply again after the Christmas holidays.
The health authorities registered 295 new infections on Tuesday, as the Ministry of Health in Saarbrücken announced.
There were fewer than 100 each on the three previous days.
This increased the number of cases registered since the beginning of the pandemic to 19,848. The number of people who have died with or from Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic increased by 9 to 456. Currently there are 1945 people in the state with the Sars-CoV-2 virus infected.
The number of infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days (incidence) in Saarland was 136.3.
The country's clinics treated 319 Covid-19 patients, 82 of them in an intensive care unit.
The data are based on reports from the health authorities as reported to the ministry by 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
