The New York Stock Exchange continued its march forward at the opening Tuesday after concluding on records the day before.

At 2:50 p.m. GMT, the Dow Jones gained 0.24%, the Nasdaq was up 0.05% and the S&P was up 0.22%.

Monday, after the validation of a fiscal stimulus plan in the United States, the three main indices of Wall Street had recorded new highs.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.68% to 30,403.97 points.

The Nasdaq, with strong technological coloring, had garnered 0.74% to 12,899.42 points and the broader S&P 500 index had increased by 0.87% to 3,735.36 points.

"The uptrend should continue but at a slower pace than in the previous session," said Peter Cardillo of Spartan Capital Securities.

"If the Dow Jones and the S&P are likely to close again at record levels, the pace of gains will be slower," the analyst continued adding that the Dow Jones "should be helped by the good news on Boeing".

Indeed, the company American Airlines performs Tuesday, between Miami and New York, the first commercial flight in the United States of the Boeing 737 MAX, which was immobilized on the ground for 20 months after two accidents which killed 346 people.

The title of the aircraft manufacturer took off by more than 2%, while those of airlines started in the green like American Airlines (+ 0.75%) or United Airlines (+ 0.87%).

The enthusiasm of investors was also driven by developments in the plan to help the Americans.

"Morale is being bolstered by the fact that the House of Representatives passed a bill on Monday that would increase stimulus checks to $ 2,000 from the current level of $ 600," noted analysts at Wells Fargo.

It is now the Senate's turn to rule on this amendment.

On the Covid-19 vaccine front, clinical trials to determine the safety and efficacy of immunization, led by the American biotechnology company Novavax, have started in the United States and Mexico.

It is the fifth candidate vaccine against Covid-19 tested in a phase 3 trial in the United States.

The highly volatile Novavax share lost 0.51%, while those of competitors Pfizer and Moderna gained 0.31% and 1.57% respectively.

In the bond market, the 10-year yield on Treasuries rose to 0.9364% from 0.9231% on Monday.
