Stuttgart / Offenburg (dpa / lsw) - Despite the sometimes chaotic conditions caused by countless day-trippers around Christmas, especially in the Black Forest, the government is leaving the measures in place.

"A tightening of the Corona regulation is currently not planned especially for the upcoming long (holiday) weekend," said a spokesman for the Ministry of Health on Monday.

"We appeal to people not to go on day trips and not to exhaust the existing rules."

He pointed out that the easing of the exit restrictions for private meetings only applied over the Christmas holidays.

Since then - and thus also on New Year's Eve, New Year's Eve and the following weekend - sports and exercise in the fresh air have only been allowed during the day alone, with members of your own household or with another person who does not live in the same household.

There had been traffic chaos in some places over the Christmas holidays, and the police also registered dozens of violations of the Corona regulation such as minimum distances.

Hundreds of people flocked to the municipality of Dobel (Calw district) for sleigh rides and hikes.

The parking lots were overcrowded and traffic jams formed.

According to the police, more than 180 parking offenders received a fine.

The driveways have meanwhile been closed to non-locals.

A spokesman was unable to say on Monday why the Pforzheim police headquarters were responsible for concentrating on Dobel.

The consequences for the upcoming weekend including the public holiday would be discussed with the local regulatory authorities.

Initially, no one could be reached in Dobel town hall to answer questions.

How the situation develops depends heavily on the weather, said the police spokesman.

So far, the forecasts sound quite suitable for excursions in winter weather.

However, ski lifts are shut down due to the measures taken against the pandemic.

At the popular Mummelsee excursion destination, there was also “chaotic conditions” when parking, as a spokesman for the Offenburg police said.

Almost 200 violations were punished here on Sunday afternoon alone - for example, because of parking in the absolute no-stopping zone.

There were so many cars standing along the Schwarzwaldhochstraße (B500) that the police and rescue workers could hardly get through.

By means of loudspeaker announcements, the day trippers were asked to adhere to the corona distance rules.

Due to the sheer mass of people, continuous punishment of violations was not possible.

For the extended New Year's weekend, the police are not planning any measures to curb a possible renewed influx of visitors.

According to the police, there was chaos again at the Kandel near Freiburg at the weekend.

The parking lot was overcrowded on Saturday and numerous parking violations were reported.

Here, too, officials called on loudspeakers to keep the minimum distance.

A spokesman said they had "sounded the mountain".

From 12 noon, the access to the Kandel was at least partially blocked on both weekend days.

According to a police spokesman, there were initially no concrete plans to prevent similar scenes from happening next weekend.
