Burg (dpa / sa) - Several suspicious suitcases were found in the Bürgerholz near Burg on Monday.
In one of the suitcases discovered in the forest area there were "apparently" older weapon parts, as the Stendal police station announced.
Another suitcase was said to have been labeled “Toxic”.
The fire brigade requested hazardous substances experts.
The Bürgerholz is a 920 hectare forest area northeast of the town of Burg.
An employee of the Office for Monument and Soil Protection had informed the police about the suspicious find at noon.
The site was then largely cordoned off.
