Russia said it has sent more military police to the Ain Issa region in northern Syria, which has recently witnessed clashes between Turkish-backed militants and Kurdish forces.
The Ministry of Defense announced that it had sent more military police to the area on Sunday.
"We note the uneasy situation in the Ain Issa region," she added in a statement.
Ain Issa is located on the M4 highway, which connects major Syrian cities.
Russia and Turkey carry out joint patrols in this region.
"Earlier, during negotiations with the Turkish side, we reached agreements to deploy joint observation posts. Additional Russian military police units arrived in Ain Issa today (Sunday) to reinforce efforts to stabilize the situation," the Russian statement said.
Russia, whose aircraft also patrols the region, urged the two sides to stop the mutual bombing and reduce the escalation.
It also said that it had not detected any bombing by the Turkish-backed forces during the past 24 hours.
This comes before talks, to be held in southern Russia tomorrow, between Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Turkish counterpart, Mevlut Cavusoglu.
The Syrian file will be among the topics that the two ministers will discuss, as Moscow and Ankara support two warring parties in Syria.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the minister and his Russian counterpart would chair the meeting to be held in Sochi.
She explained that it is expected that during the meeting, a comprehensive exchange of views will take place on regional and international developments, as well as relations between the two countries.
"At the conclusion of the meeting, a consultative plan for 2021 and 2022 will be signed between Cavusoglu and Lavrov," the Turkish Foreign Ministry said.
