Jordan Withholds One Million Doses of "Pfizer" Vaccine

The Jordanian Minister of Health, Nazir Obeidat, announced today, Monday, that his country has reserved one million doses of the "Pfizer-Biontech" vaccine against the emerging corona virus (Covid-19), stressing that the first batches will arrive at the end of January or next February.

In statements reported by the official Jordanian News Agency (Petra), the minister said, "One million doses of the new Corona vaccine will arrive in the Kingdom in batches from the" Pfizer-Biontech "alliance.

Obaidat emphasized that the Kingdom of Jordan is working to secure vaccines for "more than 20 percent (of the population of about 11 million people), that is, what is sufficient for two million and 200 thousand citizens."

Early this month, the Jordanian Ministry of Health announced that it had signed an agreement with "Pfizer-Biontech" to supply the emerging vaccine against the Corona virus, and with "Kovacs", a mechanism developed by the World Health Organization that aims to accelerate the availability of tools to combat Covid-19.
