Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The Ministry of Transport is giving a further 30 million euros to equalize school transport in Corona times with additional buses.
Transport Minister Winfried Hermann (Greens) announced this on Monday in Stuttgart.
The corresponding program will continue until the Whitsun holidays in 2021.
This is to ensure more distance between the passengers in the buses for school transport.
The funding program for school transport is part of the state of Baden-Württemberg's rescue package for local public transport.
This will also be continued.
The cabinet had already decided this before Christmas.
To this end, 65 million euros in reserve funds from 2020 will be carried over to the coming year.
Hermann expects that the federal government will again contribute half financially to a corresponding rescue package.
Against this background, the state is already replacing the transport companies with half of the corona-related fare cancellations for 2021.
