Ernsgaden (dpa / lby) - A drunk driver caused an accident with three seriously injured people in Ernsgaden (Pfaffenhofen district) on Monday evening.

The 30-year-old man was driving on federal highway 16 at increased speed, as the police announced after initial findings.

In the process, his car skidded “in wintry conditions”, rammed into an oncoming car and crashed into a truck.

While the person who caused the accident and his passenger were only slightly injured, the three occupants of the oncoming car suffered serious injuries.

All five people were taken to the hospital.

Police suspected that the 30-year-old man, who had no license to drive, was also drugged. The B16 was closed in both directions for almost two hours in the area.
